Why You Should Disable your Phone Notifications at Work

So many distractions. They surround us like a force field of static numbing our minds and taking us away from the task at hand. The loud cackling of office next door, daydreaming about a Jacksonville Party Bus Rental, the chirp of your phone for every notification, and the ticking of the clock as time passes us by. Before you know it, it’s been 3 hours and you’ve gotten an equivalent of 20 minutes work done and now, the pressure is on.

Tuning out the world.

You can’t expect to check our phone every twenty minutes and get anything done. If you really want to get your work finished, get rid of all the distractions.

Turn all your notifications off.

Often when people work they will disable all notifications, expect for if someone we’re to call them. After all, in the event of a real emergency—you would receive a phone call, not a post on the wall of your social media site.

Taking the pressure off.

By inhibiting your phone from being a pesky interruption, you’re stopping yourself from not just checking your phone whenever it chimes, but you’re disabling external thoughts from clouding your mind. Reading your aunts post about how she had a bad day at the doctor’s office, then your friends post about their break-up, an old friends Jacksonville Party Bus experience, then reading messages from your secret admirer, or whatever it may be—only creates a loop of surface mind thoughts. I wonder if she’s okay? Why did they breakup? I wish I could get a DC Party Bus Rental…And so on…
By getting rid of those thoughts you will get your work done faster with full focus and then you can relax in a Party Bus DC Rental when the weekend arrives.
